About Cactus Ice
Cactus Ice owns and operates a large number of self-contained, 24 hour, fully automated, ice and water vending machines throughout the San Antonio and South Texas areas.
While traditional ice providers must deal with a large amount of overhead and inefficiency in manufacturing and distributing ice -- relying on large diesel trucks and a large number of employees, we at Cactus Ice manufacture and dispense the ice and water on site, minimizing our environmental footprint while at the same time allowing us to sell a substantially less expensive product.
Inspired by the founder of regrigerated ice -- John Gorrie -- who in 1851 invented the first known "ice machine" to treat victims of malaria in Apalachicola, Florida, we at Cactus Ice decided to likewise introduce a machine to help those who are suffering -- construction workers, commercial fishermen, tail-gaters, sports fans, caterers, produce vendors, beer drinkers, and everyone in between....
